Garbage Collection: Garbage is hauled by Republic Services on Fridays.

Recycling Collection:
Republic Services every other Friday.

Holidays: Republic Services recognizes six major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Garbage collection will run one day late for all communities that have collection on or after a holiday during the holiday week.

Appliances, Bulky Waste and Tires: One bulky item per household can be set out on the first pickup day of the month. See Scott Area Landfill.

Electronic Waste Recycling: Residents may take items may be taken to the Electronic Demanufacturing Facility for recycling at no charge.

Hazardous Waste: Residents may take items to Waste Commission of Scott County, by appointment, at no charge. See Scott Area Household Hazardous Material Facilities.

Cleanup Days/Weeks: One cleanup day in spring. Watch monthly statements.

Grass and Leaves: Republic Services will collect grass and leaves on garbage day. Material must be in biodegradable paper bags with yard waste stickers ($1.75) from City Hall. Homeowners must schedule pickup with city hall.

Motor Oil: Oil may be taken to the Scott Area Landfill or Scott Area Recycling Center for recycling.

Burning Regulations: Yard waste burning is permitted on private property. (No burning on streets or alleys.)
