Garbage Collection: Allied Waste ( 563-332-0050) collects garbage on Wednesday on Wisconsin Street and north and Pebble Creek north and south. Thursday collection is everything south of Wisconsin. Must be out at curb by 7:00 a.m.
Recycling Collection: Same day as garbage collection, every other week. See
Scott Area Recycling Center for acceptable items. New recycling carts to be delivered January 9-20, 2011.
Holidays: Allied Waste recognizes six major holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Garbage collection will run one day late for all communities that have collection on or after holiday during the holiday week.
Appliances: Call City Hall for collection. $15.00 sticker required. Picked up on the first Saturday of the month and at the annual clean up day in October.
Electronic Waste Recycling: Residents may take items to the
Electronic Demanufacturing Facility for recycling at no charge.
Household Hazardous Materials: Residents may take items to Waste Commission of Scott County, by appointment, at no charge. See

Bulky Waste: Residents may set out one large item for curbside pickup on garbage day during the second week of January, April, July and November.
Cleanup Days/Weeks: Annual cleanup the second Saturday of October. The City also offers a cleanup day the second Saturday of April, which provides residents curbside pickup of bulky items, with the exception of tires, appliances and electronic waste.
Tires: Tires collected at annual cleanup day in October.
Brush and Tree Trimmings: Subscription service available by calling Allied Waste at 332-0050.
Christmas Trees: Picked up at curb December 26 through January 15.
Grass and Leaves: Subscription service available by calling Allied Waste at 332-0050.
Motor Oil: Oil may be taken to the
Scott Area Landfill or
Scott Area Recycling Center for recycling.
Burning Regulations: Only residential yard waste originating on the property can be burned if it is not creating a nuisance.
