Registration now open for Davenport Corridor Cleanup

January 27, 2015
Tired of winter? Get ready for the spring thaw and sign up for Davenport's Corridor Cleanup!

The cleanup will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21. Registration is open now at the City of Davenport's Website.

The event is free and open to everyone. Youth under 18 must have adult supervision. Cleanup supplies, including safety vests, will be provided. Participants also will receive a free T-shirt.

As the snow melts in Davenport each spring, litter is often uncovered. The Corridor Cleanup was established to help spruce up Davenport's gateways following the spring thaw. Plus, it will help protect the city's water resources by cleaning up debris that might otherwise be carried by wind or water to local creeks and streams.

During this event, volunteers will collect litter along major, busy corridors throughout the city. Because of heavy traffic, this event is not recommended for families with smaller children.

Sign up today at the City of Davenport's Website.
